Excellent value for the money
I have and older 18 tooth mount which is not as stable as the newer 51 tooth mount.
I use this on a LWRC REPR and there is a significant POI shift when using the can. I get about a 6" to "7 drop in my POI when the can is on.
This can offers excellent performance on any centerfire rifle .30 and below. I use mine on a POF 415 with a 16 inch barrel, a remington 700 LTR, an M1a, an HK 91, and an AR-10. I wanted to buy one silencer to service all those guns and break me into the NFA game. AAC offers mounts in many different thread pitches so that you can use it on a wide variety of guns. I went in with the desire to shoot at my parent's property without disturbing the neighbors 1/2 a mile away. Since I was able to bring this puppy home I have not had one complaint from the neighbors.
Be sure to get the 51T ratchet mount model. The 18t has given me problems staying on the gun.
If you have never heard silenced rifles before the sonic crack is still very load. This can (and no can for that matter) can do anything about that, so dont be disappointed when you dont get hollywood level sound suppression.
The blackout flash hider does have a load ping. I have noticed that it gets better as you put more rounds through the gun and the flash hider gets a good deposit of carbon on it. If it concerns you then get the break mount as that does not "ping" at all.
Great .30 cal can
Good performance, weight, cost combo. Used on both a rem 700 - .308 and a 16" middy ar-15 (5.56). Very good 'seat of your pants' performance on both rifles.
Long compared to a 5.56 can.
762SD - Best Option for 7.62 from AAC
The suppressor's QD feature is fast and repeatable POI
The sound is suppressed to hearing safe on bolt guns
Multiple attachment points = multiple host use.
A great "first timers" can from AAC, budget friendly for a big name manufacturer.
The 18t model's QD can and will eventually loosen over time, the main retention device is a heavy gauged wire that acts as a spring.
As an AAC QD model the mounts are not included in the price of the suppressor.
762SD- Great multi-caliber can w/ Quick Detach
This can is great. It's lighter than the YHM 7.62 can (old one). I use it on my 308 Mega Machine build and my AR15 as well.
I really like the 51T mount, and I have had no issues of it loosening after a few shots or not staying on tight.
On the 7.62 - I can use it without hearing protection shooting non-subsonic rounds. You of course hear the shot, but it's muffled to the point that it won't bother you. The sound of the supersonic crack is much louder than the shot. Shooting subsonic on a handy rifle is hollywood quiet. It is shocking how quiet this can is.
On the 5.56 - Pretty much the same as the 7.62, although I haven't shot any subsonic 5.56 out of it.
Both of my rifles are 16" barrels. No issues, and would have another one in a heartbeat.
51T flash suppressor makes a very annoying PING sound when shot. Even with the can on, the PING is noticeable and it detracts from an all around great can. I would recommend the brake or brake/flash suppressor combo.
